Line 1 Overview
Line 1 is the main rapid transit line of the Izmir Metro. The first phase of the line opened on May 22, 2000, between Uchyol and Bornova. The line was later extended in several phases to Evka 3 in the east and Fahrettin Altay in the west. It is 27 kilometers long and has 24 stations. Passing through central Izmir, the line connects important districts such as Konak, Bornova, and Balçova, and also connects with the Izban commuter rail and tram service at several interchange stations.
