Line 1 Overview
Line 1 is the first and currently the only line of the Kazan Metro. Construction of the metro began in 1997, and the first phase of the line was opened on August 27, 2005. The line has subsequently been expanded several times, including northward extensions in 2010 and 2013. The line is 16.8 kilometers long and has 11 stations. Major stations on the route include Kremlyovskaya, Ploshchad Tukaya and Kozya Sloboda.
