Line D Overview
Line D was inaugurated in 1991. It runs between Gare de Vés and Gare de Vénissieux. Construction of the line began in phases in 1991, then on December 1, 1992, it was extended from Grange Blanche to Gare de Vénissieux. On April 28, 1997, the line was extended from Grange de Loup to Gare de Véssieux. It is 12.6 kilometers long and has 15 stations. Line D's hallmark is its driverless operation system (MAGGALY), which has been in operation since the early 1990. It also connects key areas such as Vieux Lyon, Bellecour, and Grange Blanche, forming an important east-west travel corridor across the city.
