Line 1 Overview

The Palembang LRT is Indonesia's first light rail system, built primarily for the 2018 Asian Games. Construction began in 2015 and it began operations on August 1, 2018. The line is 23.4 km long and has 13 elevated stations, connecting Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in the north to Jakabaring Sports City in the south. It passes through central Palembang and major urban areas, providing a direct rail connection between the airport, the city center, and major sports facilities.
