Tōzai Line Overview
The first phase of the Tozai Line, connecting Kotoni and Shiroishi, opened on June 10, 1976. The extension from Shiroishi to Shin-Sapporo opened in 1982, extending the line into eastern Sapporo. The final extension, from Kotoni to Miyanosawa, was completed on February 25, 1999. The line is 20.1 kilometers long and has 19 stations. Major interchange stations include Odori Station, where passengers can change to the Namboku and Toho subway lines.
