Line 1 Overview
Construction of Line 1 began in phases, with the first phase between the International Airport and Balu opening on October 25, 2018. The remaining section, from Balu to Santunbei, opened on June 28, 2019. The line is 27.6 kilometers long and has 21 stations. Line 1 was built as the first metro line in Ürümqi and serves important stations such as Nanmen, Beimen, Balu, Xinjiang University, and the International Airport.
