Line 3 is the longest line in the Athens Metro network. It first opened on 28 January 2000, along with Line 2, between Ethniki Amina and Syntagma. In 2012, construction began on the latest underground extension of Line 3 to Dimotikos Theatre via Piraeus, which was completed on 10 October 2022. Line 3 is 47.3 km long and has 27 stations. It provides important interchanges with Line 1, Line 2 and suburban rail.
