Circular Light Rail Overview
The Circular Light Rail opened on October 16, 2015, and was constructed in several phases. The first phase, between Lizhinhe and Hamasen, became fully operational in September 2017, while subsequent extensions gradually extended the route through northern Kaohsiung between 2021 and 2024. The last remaining section, between the Heart of Love River and Kaiyuan Park, opened on January 1, 2024, completing the circular route. The line is 22.1 kilometers long and has 38 stations. It also provides transfers to the Kaohsiung Metro Red and Orange Lines, Taiwan Railways services, and major waterfront districts.
