Line 1 Overview
The first phase of Montreal Metro Line 1, Atwater–Papineau, spanning 11.7 km and 14 stations, opened to public service on October 14, 1966, as part of the initial metro network. The line was extended eastward to Honoré-Beaugrand and westward to Angrignon, with major expansions completed by 1978.
