U1 Line Overview
The U1 line was part of Munich's first U-Bahn section, which opened on 19 October 1971 between Kieferngarten and Goetheplatz. The line was later extended to Olympia-Einkaufszentrum in the north and Mangfallplatz in the south. The line is 12.2 kilometers long and serves 15 stations. The U1 line connects key areas such as the Olympic Park, Central Station and Isarvorstadt and forms an important north–south route in the network.
