Tozai Line Overview
Construction of the Tozai Line began in 2005 and, after delays caused by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, it opened to the public on December 6, 2015. The line is 13.9 kilometers long and has 13 stations, connecting Yagiyama Zoological Park Station and Arai Station in Sendai City. Sendai Station serves as a major interchange station, allowing passengers to change to the Namboku subway line, JR Railway services, and the Tohoku Shinkansen.
