Hibiya Line Overview
Hibiya Line is a subway line of the Tokyo Metro system that runs from Naka-Meguro Station to Kita-Senju Station. Construction of the line began in 1959, and the first phase, between Minami-Senju and Naka-Okachimachi, opened on March 28, 1961. The route was expanded in several phases, and the final section, between Higashi-Ginza and Kasumigaseki, opened on August 29, 1964. The line is 20.3 kilometers long and has 21 stations. Ueno Station, Ginza Station, and Kasumigaseki Station are its major interchange stations, where connections can be made to Tokyo Metro, Toei Subway, and JR Railway lines.
