Blue Line (1 & 3) Overview

Blue Line is the longest line in the Yokohama Municipal Metro system, running from Shōnandai Station to Azamino Station. The first phase of the line, between Kami-oka and Isezakichojamachi, opened on December 16, 1972. The final extension to Shōnandai was completed in 1999. The line is 40.4 kilometers long and has 32 stations. The line is divided into two operational sections: Line 3 from Azamino to Kannai and Line 1 from Kannai to Shonandai. Local and rapid services on both lines operate as a single service.
