Caracas Metro

The Caracas Metro is a mass rapid transit system serving Caracas, Venezuela. It was inaugurated on 2 January 1983 with 11.5 km and currently the total length of the railway has reached 106.5 km. Its objective is to contribute to the development of mass transportation in Caracas and its immediate region through the planning, construction and commercial exploitation of an integrated transportation system. CA Metro de Caracas is in charge of its construction, operation and exploitation as a decentralized public body attached to the Ministry of Manpower for Land Transportation. Over the past few years, the Caracas Metro has expanded its reach, introducing new lines and stations to serve a broader population and reduce traffic congestion. With deep stations and integration with cable car systems such as the Metrocable, the Caracas Metro not only provides practical transportation but also contributes to the cultural richness of the city with artistic installations in many of its stations.
