Hangzhou Metro

The Hangzhou Metro is a rapid transit system serving Hangzhou in the Zhejiang province of China. The system opened on 24 November 2012. It is the 17th city in China to operate a rapid transit system. Currently 12 lines are in operation. The nearby Shaoxing Metro connects to the system at Guniangqiao station on Line 5, and the Hangzhou–Haining Intercity Rail connects to the system at Linpingan railway station on Line 9.

• The first line of the Hangzhou Metro, Line 1, began operation in November 2012. It connects major areas of Hangzhou, including the city centre, West Lake and the East Railway Station.
• Since the opening of Line 1, the Hangzhou Metro has expanded rapidly. Many new lines have been added, contributing to the development of a comprehensive metro network in the city.
