MRT Blue Line Overview

The MRT Blue Line opened on 3 July 2004 as the first metro line of Thailand's MRT system and was built in several phases. The initial section was between Hua Lamphong and Bang Sue, and was later extended into a semi-circular route around central Bangkok. The missing link between Bang Sue and Tao Poon was completed in 2017, and further extensions from Chinatown to Tha Phra and westward to Lak Song opened between 2019 and 2020, forming the current loop-like network. The line is 46.9 kilometers long and has 38 operational stations. It interchanges with the Purple Line, Airport Rail Link, and SRT Red Lines.
