M2 branch is the longest, running northeasternly from Cascina Gobba to Gessate. The line 2 route passes through Crescenzago, Cimiano, Colono Sud, Colono Centro, and ends at Colono Nord. Construction took place in stages between 1969 and 1981, with the final extension to Colono Nord opening on June 7, 1981.
