Midōsuji Line Overview
The Midosuji Line is the oldest subway line in the Osaka Metro system and one of the busiest railway lines in Japan. Its first phase, connecting Umeda Station and Shinsaibashi Station, opened on May 20, 1933. It was subsequently expanded several times, reaching Namba in 1935, Tennoji in 1938, and finally Nakamozu in 1987. The line is 24.5 kilometers long and has 20 stations. Major interchange stations on this line include Shin-Osaka Station, Umeda Station, and Namba Station.
