East Rail Line (EAL) Overview
The East Rail line is one of the major railway lines in Hong Kong and was originally opened on 1 October 1910 as the Kowloon–Canton Railway. It now operates under the MTR system and runs between Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau on the Shenzhen border and Admiralty on Hong Kong Island. The line is 47.5 km long, with 16 stations and offers important interchanges at stations such as Kowloon Tong, Tai Wai and Admiralty.
