Line 1 Overview
Line 1 is the oldest line in the Tehran Metro system. It runs north-south from Tajrish in northern Tehran to Kahrizak in southern Tehran, with a branch to Imam Khomeini International Airport and Parand. The line is 92 kilometers long and has 29 stations. Line 1 connects Tehran to Imam Khomeini International Airport. Its first phase, to Shahr-e Aftab Station, opened in 2016, and the airport station opened in August 2017. It is the only metro line in Tehran that is fully open 24 hours a day. The third phase was completed in 2023.
