Line 2 Overview
Line 2 was opened in February 2000 between Sadeghyeh and Imam Khomeini stations. The line is 26 kilometers long and has 22 stations. It was extended from Imam Khomeini to Baharestan in 2004, and to Shahid Madani, Sarsabz, and Elm-o-Sanat University in March 2006. Darwazeh Shemiran and Sabalan stations opened in July 2006. It was further extended from Elm-o-Sanat University to Tehran Pars in February 2009 and to Farhangsara in June 2010. Construction of an additional extension toward a new eastern terminal is currently underway.
