Green Line (D) Overview

Green Line D branch opened on July 4, 1959, using a converted commuter rail corridor between Fenway and Riverside. This line runs between Union Square and Riverside and is the fastest branch of the Green Line because most of its route is completely isolated from street traffic. This branch has 25 stations and provides commuter rail service along the B, C, and E branches, as well as near downtown Boston.
