Green Line (E) Overview

Green Line E branch opened in stages in the late 19th century and became part of the modern MBTA Green Line network in 1967. With the opening of the Northern Extension to Somerville and Medford in 2022, the line currently runs between Medford/Tufts and Heath Street. The branch has 26 stations and provides transfers to other Green Line branches, the Orange Line, and commuter rail services, improving connectivity between the northern suburbs and central Boston.
