Line 5 Overview
Shanghai Metro Line 5 was inaugurated on November 25, 2003, between Xinzhuang and the Minhang Development Zone. In 2018, the line was extended southward to Fengxian Xincheng, forming the current main route between Xinzhuang and Fengxian Xincheng. The main line is 32.7 kilometers long and has 15 stations. It became the first Shanghai Metro line to reach Fengxian District and also to cross the Huangpu River via bridge.
