Downtown Line Overview

The Downtown Line is a medium-capacity Mass Rapid Transit line in Singapore, which began operations in phases. Its first phase, from Bugis to Chinatown, opened on 22 December 2013. The line was gradually extended, with the Bukit Timah section completed in 2015 and the eastern section in 2017, followed by the opening of Hume Station in 2025. It covers a distance of approximately 41.9 km from Bukit Panjang to Expo and has 35 stations, making it one of Singapore's longest fully underground and driverless MRT lines.
