East–West Line Overview
The East-West Line is one of the oldest MRT lines. Construction began in 1983, and its first phase opened in 1987, serving as the initial part of the MRT system. It runs approximately 57 kilometers from Pasir Ris and Changi Airport in the east to Tuas Link in the west, and has 35 stations. The line connects major areas such as Tampines, City Hall, Tanjong Pagar, and Jurong, and is one of the longest and busiest east-west transport corridors in Singapore's MRT network.
