Line 2 Overview
The first phase of Line 2, between Sol and Ventas, opened on June 14, 1924. Later, the line was extended from Sol to Quevedo on 27 December 1925 and from Ventas to Ciudad Lineal on 16 June 1932, extending service towards eastern Madrid. On 16 February 2011, a 1.7-kilometre extension from La Elipa to Las Rozas opened, bringing the line to its current eastern terminus. Today, Line 2 operates as a 14.1-kilometre-long, entirely underground route between Quatro Caminos and Las Rozas, with 20 stations across Madrid.
